Green Manufacturing at AF Switchgears Manufacturing and Assembly plant

We are pleased to announce the completion & commissioning of our 75 KW Solar PV system which has been installed at our Machining Facility In Nottingham. The system has been sized in order to reduce our grid demand significantly and allow self-consumption of the power that we can produce during operational and manufacturing periods, the system also has the facility to export power back to the grid when our demand is low on weekends and holidays.

295 individual solar panels covering 480sqM have been installed on the south facing aspect to gain maximum efficiency, these operate alongside three inverters which convert the solar power into usable electricity. A monitoring system has been installed which will allow our visitors to check the performance and also track our carbon reduction.

Environmental issues are very important to us all and we believe the investment in this first phase demonstrates to our customers and staff the commitment we have to reduce our carbon footprint.
